Nurses
Our practice nurse offers a wide range of services. She also manages the wide range of Clinics we have on offer at the Surgery, from Cervical cytology to chronic disease management clinics i.e. Diabetes/Asthma etc.
Healthcare Assistants
Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.
Practice Management
Reception
Receptionists provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses. They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries, dealing with financial claims, dealing with patient records and carrying out searches and practice audits.
Community Nurses
We have a team of district nurses allocated to the Surgery. They provide nursing care, support and advice to patients and carers in their own homes. This service is provided 7 days a week, and your GP or hospital will normally make this request for you.
Counsellors
The surgery provides a counselling service for patients who the GP or Nurse feel would benefit. Dates and times can be arranged to suit your needs.
Health Visitors
The Baby Health Advisory Clinics are held at the Sure Start Centre every Monday 13:30 – 15:30 (no appointment necessary). Your health visitor can be contacted on 0121 612 1981.
