TRAVEL ADVICE

Travel health is offered at Oldbury Health Centre.

Book travel vaccinations

If you're planning to travel outside the UK, the surgery can help with travel advice and information about vaccines for travel.

You must request travel advice at least 8 weeks before your departure date. This is to ensure the nursing team have adequate time to assess if travel vaccines are required and contact you to book an appointment.

If pre travel assessment forms are handed in later than this then it may not be possible to offer you an appointment for travel vaccines and/or advice.

This is because some vaccines:

  • need to be given in advance to let your body develop immunity
  • involve a number of doses over weeks or months

The NHS is only able to provide specific vaccinations to its NHS patients for travel. These include:

  • Hepatitis A
  • Typhoid
  • Polio

Please note that some travel vaccinations/ anti malaria treatment that you may require are not available free of charge on the NHS so nursing staff may direct you to book an appointment at a private travel clinic.

Contact the surgery using an online form

You can use an online form to find out what vaccinations you need.

We’ll review your answers and contact you to arrange an appointment if you need to be vaccinated.

Please note - all travel consultations will be held at Oldbury Health Centre, Albert St, Oldbury, B69 4DE.
